BIOL4910 Spring26 (eDNA)

Environmental DNA (eDNA) is transforming how we detect organisms and study ecosystems without direct observation or sampling. This course introduces the principles of eDNA, from DNA degradation and environmental persistence to modern sequencing and bioinformatic analysis. Students gain hands-on experience in both laboratory workflows and computational methods used in environmental genomics. Applications span biodiversity monitoring, conservation, aquatic systems, soil ecology, and forensic and archaeological contexts
